Wallowa Lake is located in northeast Oregon near the small tourist town of Joseph, named after the famed Indian Chief.  Wallowa lake was formed by a glacier slide 10,000 years ago and resides at the base of the Wallowa mountains. The lake has a depth of 283 feet and rests at the bottom of 1200 foot moraines that surround the lake. This original painting depicts a view from up high on the eastern side of the moraine looking across the lake to Chief Joseph mountain.
This original oil painting has sold.  Giclee' prints are available.
