This is a painting from an actual rock art site called "Buffalo Eddy" on the Idaho side of the Snake River at the entrance to the Hells Canyon. The petroglyphs depict a sacred ceremony of some kind, perhaps relating to a hunt, and is estimated to be several hundred years old. There are 200 documented rock art sites in the Hell's Canyon where human occupation there dates back 8,000 years.
